Children Helping Children Fund Drives Support CECA in Ohio

CECA plans an emergency home for neglected children. A June 18 carnival raised 40 dollars with Jennifer Glassmeyer winning a Sprite racer and Mike Wulfhorst taking 5 dollars. The week of June 17 24 the New Rich mond Teen Canteen collected 35 dollars for CECA and the Interfaith Youth garage sale and talent show is set for Saturday July 17 in New Richmond to boost donations. Grant To Aid Poverty Study

The Clermont County Community Council received a $7000 grant for poverty outreach from the Archdiocesan Central Planning and Budget Commission. Council President Mrs. Chris Zureick announced the grant while noting the council’s recent incorporation and local focus on poverty issues. Clermont County Commissioners also supported the program with in-kind accounting services.

Bank Expands Mt. Carmel Branch

Clermont National Bank announces extensive expansion at the Mt. Carmel Office with two new drive-in windows, enlarged parking for 50 cars, and a remodeled lobby increasing space by 332 square feet. A July mini-reopening is planned from July 6 to 17, under executive vice president Donald L. McWhorter.

County Hospital Bid Opening Set Aug 10 2 PM

Clermont County Hospital bids will be opened August 10 at 2 p m by county commissioners for construction of a two story nursing wing with basement and a one story diagnostic and treatment wing. Separate proposals will cover general contract food service equipment hospital casework and equipment plumbing heating ventilating air conditioning and electrical work. Drawings and bid forms are available from Steinkamp and Nordloh McGill and Smith architects Milford and Amelia.

Zenas V. Anstaett Sr. 67 longtime Clermont County official and Batavia businessman dies at Bethesda Hospital. Appointed 1955 to fill vacancy, elected 1958 and reelected 1962. Survived by wife Catherine, four sons, a daughter, two siblings and many grandchildren. Funeral 2 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Batavia with burial Batavia Cemetery. Memorials to Clermont County American Cancer Society.

Coffeehouse Opens For Youth In Mt Carmel Area

A public coffeehouse for young people in Mt Carmel and Summerside opens Friday July 9 from 8 to 11 p.m. at Hartman Hall behind All Saints Church Mt Carmel. Sponsored by Senior High Youth groups from All Saints Mt Carmel Presbyterian and Summerside United Methodist Churches. It will be open every other Friday night through the summer with special entertainment and opportunities for youths to perform. All area youth are invited. St Ann's Youth Club holds a bottle drive Saturday July 11 from 10 to 1:30.

Election Board Opens Poll Books To 18-Year-Olds

Clermont County Board of Elections confirms 18 year olds may vote in November. No special registration for 16 year olds. Voters can register at board offices before Sept 22. Expanded registration on Sept 15 runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Offices open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept 15 and 22.

Zitt Seeks Union Township Trustee Seat

Kenneth L. Zitt Sr., 41 of 488 Breezy Lane Mt. Carmel has filed petitions as a candidate for Union Township Trustee. A longtime resident he led the North Union Fire Department the Rumpke Road Homeowner's Association and the Union Township Joint Civic Council. He runs his own insurance agency in Mt. Carmel.

Youth Group Survey to Gauge County Transportation Needs

A Clermont County youth program plans an eight week survey starting July 12 to study public transportation. Twenty five youths, ages 14 to 20, will canvass homes retailers industry and county residents using four questionnaires to aid community planning and fund future youth led ventures.
