A dispute over a boundary between the Hall and Mullen families led to three deaths and multiple gunshot wounds on their Alabama property near Collinsville. Tom Hall built a fence. John Mullen and others were involved as violence escalated with Hall killed, and Mullen fatally wounding Hall before being mortally injured himself. A. B. Hall was killed as well.
A Muskegon dock carrying 800000 feet of lumber sank into Lake Michigan on the 28th. About twenty men worked on the dock and four drowned. all were Hollanders with unknown names. A boy named Frank Barhardt was crushed by timber. Two large timber piles nearby hinder search efforts.
Hon. Walter Evans Commissioner of Internal Revenue orders Boston Collector Slack to investigate charges against newly appointed revenue agent C. M. Horton. The commissioner insists the truth must be reached before Horton goes on duty at his post.
A boiler in Ives and Hales saw mill at Whittlesey Wisconsin exploded on the 28th without cause. Engineer Donald Garrish of New London was killed, leaving a family. Laborer John Stoner, 19, with a wife, and John Spencer, a Black fireman of Oshkosh, also died as the mill was almost wholly destroyed.

A recent Sunday an armed group seized a church and forced the preacher to read a notice demanding local leaders flee or face death.
