County Finishes Clermont Airport Tract Donation

$1 Million Purchase Sets Clermont Acres Record

Road official Melvin marked 30 years with highway dept
Roy Melvin Clermont County State Highway Maintenance Superintendent celebrated 30 years with the department on Thursday. The event drew Division 8 officials from Middletown and family including his wife and siblings. Melvin began as a laborer in 1939, rose to top man in 1968, and recalls earlier days of road work as automation changed maintenance. Clermont County has about 300 miles of state highways with major projects last year including replacing about 40 culverts and the Bullskin Bridge on US 52. The Melvins live in Felicity and have a daughter Helen Rae Schmitt and two grandchildren.
