Owensville Boy Enters Annapolis

On June 24 Joe D. Evans, son of Mr and Mrs J W Evans, became a midshipman at the U S Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland. He was an A student in Miami University's Freshman class and was nominated last December by former Representative Judge Jacob Davis of the Sixth District. He will turn 18 on July 7, 1943.

4-H Exhibits Part of Victory Day

Over 700 Clermont County 4-H club members will exhibit project displays at the Annual Clermont County Farmers Victory Day at the Owensville Fair Grounds on Thursday August 19. They will join a Victory parade style show educational demonstrations and 4-H livestock judging. The event is sponsored by Farm Bureau Grange and county livestock interests to support the rural war effort.

Loveland teen charged with arson and baby death

Janice Peden, 17, of Loveland, is charged with arson and murder after allegedly confessing to setting eight fires in the area and burning to death 18 month old Lillian Spencer left in her care. She is held in Lebanon by Warren County authorities following a late night confession to Loveland officials.
