At its meeting on Thursday January 22 the Clermont County Bar Association approved a resolution setting a $2.00 minimum fee for members assisting in preparing income tax returns. The fee may be raised if the case warrants higher compensation.

John P. Friend Jr. reports Batavia township fully met its Red Cross quota on Tuesday afternoon. He thanks co workers and donors for surpassing the goal in the second war relief drive and notes county wide support.
Mr and Mrs Jacob Anstaett of Batavia marked their 50th anniversary quietly at home. They have lived in Batavia area their entire married life with two sons Edgar and Stanley, and a daughter-in-law Edith. Jacob has taught at the local Sunday school for forty years.
The monthly pot luck dinner at the Methodist church is set for Wednesday February 4 at 12 noon. The Woman's Society of Christian Service will meet immediately after the meal. All members and friends are urged to attend.

Members of Batavia Grange will be entertained with a high quality program at the Grange Hall on Thursday February 5. The business meeting runs 8 to 8 30 PM, followed by the program directed by school leaders. Performers include Gladys Lewis and a girls quartet and sextet, trombone soloist Howard Lewis, and vocal soloist Virginia Kain. The Gettysburg Address and other pieces will be presented by the English Department with Harold Knauper, Ruthulan, Sammy Lou Diday, and Robert Campbell narrated by Eleanor Dominy. Clermont Co Pomona Grange meets at Amelia school auditorium on Saturday January 31 at 10 AM with Pomona Master.

Pat Sullivan of Batavia purchased a registered Guernsey bull from Edmund J Hadley of Monterey to join his local herd. The animal is registered as Pat's Prince of Hadley Farms 305642 with the American Guernsey Cattle Club.
Batavia defeated Amelia 30 to 28 in a tense game as Hederline scored a late goal to break the deadlock. Jenike led Batavia in scoring with the highest total. Next Tuesday Batavia faces Loveland at the local gym.

Grey Smith visited his ill father in Cincinnati on Sunday. John ann, Mrs. Mary Christy, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cann spent the weekend with relatives at Bradford Kentucky.
