A 4-H and agricultural committee endorsed Rita Probasco for the Clermont County home demonstration agent post. Probasco, a 1950 Martinsville High School graduate with an Ohio State home economics degree, has nine years in 4-H and five years as a club leader. The panel recommended she start around February 1 and noted an associate agent vacancy to be filled later by a qualified candidate.

Two Chiropractors Charged In Clermont County Indictments
Four Clermont County chiropractors including Duke Galloway and Vernon Kline were indicted on charges of advertising and operating a chiropractic office without a certificate. Arraignment set for January 31. Detained co-defendants face old charges in Common Pleas Court. Other indictments included Hartwell family members and several others for various offenses. A separate note reports Mrs. Ray Healy of Dayton seriously injured in an auto crash near Williamsburg.

The March of Dimes campaign starts in Clermont County with the Community Civic Club of Amelia collecting donations Friday January 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. Residents are asked to turn on porch lights as a welcome sign to solicitors in areas including Williamsburg Johnsboro Afton Twin Bridges Road De La Palma Pike McKeever Road Ashton Pike Burger Road Half Acre Road and portions of Routes 276 and 133.

Baby Found Dead By Young Mother
Three month old Theodore David Manassah Jr. was found dead in his bed by his 16 year old mother Betty Manassah of Batavia. Dr Albert Ryan pronounced him dead and the Hamilton County coroner ordered an autopsy in Cincinnati. Pathology showed pneumonia as the cause of death. The child lived with Mr and Mrs Richard Caldwell on Water Street.

Mrs. Alice Mae Raper 38 mother of seven and grandmother of six is jailed in Clermont County on two counts of forgery for writing two checks drawn on First National Bank of Batavia for 35 and 25 dollars. Bank president Robert Griffin filed the charges after a hearing before Mayor J F Paschal she pleaded guilty and was held for grand jury action.

Harold Brown former Clermont County Recorder candidate and former juvenile probation officer was convicted of driving while intoxicated before Batavia Mayor J F Paschal. He received 300 fine and 15 days in jail with five days and 250 dollars suspended for first offense. Brown struck pedestrian Robert Kirby in Batavia December 17 1954 hospitalization eight days.

Aged farmer found wounded and near death in Felicity
An 82 year old Felicity retired farmer Arthur Armacost was found in a field with a bullet wound to the back of the head and exposure. Neighbor Arch Miller reported seeing his body then called helpers who transported him to hospital. Authorities suspect suicide with a small revolver found nearby. His wife is bedridden and a Cincinnati niece assists the family.

Homestead Inn won two games from Jones Cafe as Gade Insurance beat Gingrich Builders and Korner Lunch swept Milford Hardware. Alley owner Bill Malott rolled 254 in a 639 set, the season high, and the league designated the fifth frame of game two as the Polio Frame, collecting 28 dollars and 30 cents.

The Williamsville Fire Department will offer a first aid course in February twice weekly under Life Squad Chief Pete Heckter and Lt Earl Kuntz.
