William Wheel, a Miami township resident, was arrested in Witheville Virginia after Bank of Owensville holds up on January 13 and January 18. He confessed to other financial deceit but denied bank robbery when questioned. Clermont officials and Sheriff’s team coordinated with Prosecutor Ely to arrest and jail him in Batavia.

Clermont Leads in Tobacco Growers Contracts Across Five States
At Batavia Saturday night a meeting heard that Clermont County signed more contracts than any county in five states for the pool while some counties had none. Messrs Speidel Wilson Walker and Fitzwater reported after visiting Lexington that there is little hope for a pool. James Walker presided and Zepas Ansteadt secretary announced many contracts to be signed by absent farmers. Solicitors were appointed to distribute contracts with a big Batavia gathering planned for March 10 for fruit and tobacco growers.

About 300 fans watched Batavia and Williamsburg players in a 120 point match at Tom Danbury's pool parlor on Main Street Batavia. High scorer Henry Laughlin led Batavia with 39 points while James Marinda topped Williamsburg with 37. Danbury plans more games next Thursday between Batavia and Williamsburg.

First to File for May Primary Bid in Common Pleas Court
Judge Chas. G. White of Bata via files his candidacy for a second term as Judge of the Common Pleas Court. He served as county prosecutor from 1917 to 1921 and submitted a petition with 150 names. He is 43 years old and will appear on the May primary and November judicial ballots.
