Rev George Johnson officiated in front of about fifty relatives and friends. The couple will reside in Detroit after the Ohio State University graduate begins work with the Fruhauf Trailer Company. Amelia high defeated Batavia high in both girls and boys games, with girls rallying to a 28 to 21 victory after a slow start and the boys clinching in overtime 29 to 27. Next week Amelia hosts Anderson township teams as Mt Washington fans ready to pack the gym.

Batavia Men Injured in Dynamite Cap Explosion
Lawrence Wood and two companions were injured when a dynamite cap exploded in Kyle Moyer's Garage in Batavia at noon. Wood, 28, suffered the loss of his left thumb and index finger, facial cuts, and possible eye injury, later described as superficial. Fred Moore, 19, and Clarence Cossins were also cut and treated locally.

Deputy county auditor John Dalchow announced Clermont County collected $4930.25 from dog licenses after 4130 licenses were sold, about 50 fewer than last year. Deadline extended from December 15 to January 20. late applicants may still obtain licenses by paying a $1 penalty.
