Clermont County faced power outages in central and northern areas as CJ&E equipment failures during freezing conditions cut electric service. Cox Tool Fire Destroys Milford Shop On U S 50

Bert Riehle watched flames consume Cox Tool Service in a barn behind his home at 988 U S 50. The fire, fed by arctic winds and insulation materials, destroyed the building and its inventory. Fire crews from Day Heights and Milford fought the blaze until 5 a.m. and returned Tuesday for flare ups. a kerosene heater may have triggered the fire after power was off Sunday night.
