The third day of the Clermont County Teachers Institute will meet at Amelia town hall on Saturday January 17 beginning 10 30 a m. Old Landmarks Passes Sage Gunsmith and Inventor

G B Snyder died of typhoid fever January 7 1908 at his Bantam home. A renowned sage of practical mechanisms he trained as a gunsmith under John Park and later worked on arms for the war era. He moved to Bantam in 1872 and with Robert Deterlen ran chair round manufacture before focusing on inventive work including the Snider rifle. He leaves Lavanda Raper and two children Ada Swich and Oscar Snyder.

Miss Emma Hulick died Saturday January 10, 1903, at Springfield after weeks as an invalid. Her remains were brought to Olive Branch for funeral services at the M. E. church. She had lived with her parents on the old home farm, and was about 45.
