Commissioners Agree to Small Budget Cuts for 1933
The County Commissioners met Monday to set the 1933 appropriations with Farm Bureau and Grange representation. Officers agreed to take law-mpecified salary cuts, while requests from Clerk of the Courts Fomorin and Recorder Hodges for reductions were noted. Deputy salaries and other lines showed no firm cuts, and debt reduction needs drop about 48000 with cattle testing funds not required this year.

Leghorn Hen Won Year Long Laying Contest
George Lang of New Richmond Ohio wins for his leghorn hen at Michigan State College Lansing. The bird laid one egg daily for 82 days from February 26 to May 2 and 162 eggs in 155 days from February 26 to July 20 totaling 271 eggs. Eggs weighed 24 to 26 ounces per dozen.
