Masonic Lodge in Williamsburg Celebrates Leap Year Banquet

The Clermont Social Lodge No. 20 marks its seventy fourth year with a leap year banquet hosted by members, wives and daughters. Officers were installed for the year led by W M C H Boulware and a grand banquet drew about two hundred brethren and guests. The lodge, dating to 1816, shows nine new petitions and a sixty four member roll with notable visitors Col Summers and others.

A former Batavia resident reports a marriage on January 4 1888 to Miss May McNaughn of Stanton County Kansas formerly of Spencer Indiana. The couple will reside in Coolidge where the husband has taken a position in the Citizen Office and will make Coolidge their home for a time.

Man Dies After Fall From Drunken Buggy Ride

George Fancher, about 45, of near Felicity, left Moscow in an intoxicated state and fell from his buggy. The horse returned home. He was found unconscious in a road drainage on Sunday and died en route to his home. Townsley and Ronson advertise a reservoir store.

President West to lead Ohio and Northwestern railway

Col H C Parsons resigns as president of the Ohio and Northwestern railroad at a Cincinnati meeting. George West of New York elected successor with vast wealth and New York ties. Edmund C Pechin resigns to become general manager. Within sixty days standard gauge rolling stock will be obtained and two fast express trains planned between Cincinnati and Portsmouth.
