Rural Police Plan Gains Backing Across Ohio
In Columbus Ohio a proposed rural police bill drafted by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and the Ohio State Grange gains support from the Ohio Bankers Association the Ohio Chamber of Commerce the Ohio Federation of Womens Clubs and other groups. The measure sets 100 to 200 appointees two year terms with state training and authority to arrest for traffic violations. Fines go half to the state treasury and half to local jurisdictions.
