Three youths captured after Route 50 pursuit and gunfire
State patrolmen halted a stolen car on Route 50 near Marathon, firing four shots as the car fled through Owensville. Theodore Haugh 19 Amarillo Texas was wounded. Edward Futch 19 Cheyenne Wyoming and Marion Rash 19 also held for interstate transportation of stolen autos. They were returned to the Chillicothe Reformatory.

Mt Carmel Will Get Modern Drug Store Building
Construction of a 30 by 60 foot building in Mt. Carmel to house a new modern drug store is underway. Built by R. R. Reed of Newtown, owner of Newtown Pharmacy, the store aims to open by March 15 with up to date fixtures and equipment. Reed expresses optimism for Mt. Carmel’s rapid development. In Batavia on January 3 Emil Slater paid a $25 fine in Mayor A. C. Munden's court for speeding.

Storm Twister Wrecks Buildings In Northern Clermont County

Water project meeting delayed in Amelia area
A planned January 8 meeting at Amelia school auditorium to discuss the water project for Amelia and nearby communities was postponed due to inability to secure the building. Moore Named Williamsburg Solicitor
Attorney John Moore of Batavia has been named solicitor for Williamsburg, succeeding Hugh Davidson who resigned. Both lawyers belong to Ely White & Davidson of Batavia. The appointment came at Monday's Williamsburg Council meeting. Moore had announced his candidacy for prosecuting attorney on the Republican ticket.

Tornado Leaves Wide Path Of Farm Damage In Clermont Area
A sudden northeast Clermont County twister near Newtonsville cut a six mile path to the Clinton County line causing heavy losses. Homes and barns at Moore’s Fork suffered major damage including the Motsingers’ unroofed house and a wrecked barn. Losses exceed 25 000 with other estimates above 15 000, several animals killed, and families relocating for safety. No injuries were reported though several people were inside buildings when the storm struck at 3 15 in the afternoon.
