Fire destroys large barn on Boles Farm near Mt Holly
A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a large barn on Allen Boles farm one mile northeast of Mt. Holly on Route 222 around 5 PM Monday. Loss estimated at 1500 dollars with 180 sticks of tobacco 10 tons of feed a disc barrow three cultivators and many other implements inside. Insurance on implements 300 and feed 350 part stored in another building. Strong winds aided the blaze burning the barn and small shed in an hour and a half. no other buildings endangered. Boles could not get village fire department aid due to regulations.

William Clark Salt 97 a Civil War veteran died at his daughter and son in law 6117 Roe Street Madisonville Cincinnati Sunday morning. Born September 30 1842 in Lakin Chapel area Bethel he joined the 59th Ohio Volunteer Infantry serving at Stone Ridge Chickamauga Missionary Ridge and in the 100 day Atlanta campaign. He later worked in Washington Treasury clerkship and was active in Clermont county Republican politics. Surviving are his widow seven children two daughters and three grandchildren. Services were at Thomas Funeral Home and burial at Bethel cemetery.
