Entry came via a rear window with an outside bar and bolt. a displaced inside key allowed removal. Burglars fled, leaving the back door unbarred. Damage appears limited to small losses for Mr White.
Seventeen bidders submitted thirty three bids for the Milford bridge project. Firms from Cincinnati Columbus Toledo and Wilmington submitted multiple offers while officials promise to clarify the specifications before a joint Hamilton and Clermont session on the eighth to reach a decision.

The heirs of Albert G Schulter and his wife of Ripley who died last summer in an Illinois Central railroad accident were awarded 3250 dollars each as a compromise in their damages suit against the company secured last week.
Parker, labeled a black fiend for the Ryan killings at Winchester, was taken from West Union jail last Friday and moved to Portsmouth jail to avoid an enraged crowd. The Jones case verdict of murder in the second degree at Georgetown may hasten justice in this case.

The historic Bryan homestead in Batavia was bought by Dr. L W Bishop for 1500 dollars and is being rehabilitated. It will operate as a hotel by Mr. Newton. Once the Burnet House, it hosted the town’s young ladies and socials, now its front steps see far fewer faces.
The J B Covert Lodge No 487 F and A M held a holiday banquet in Wilhameville to mark the birth of John the Evangelist. Officers elect were installed by Charles Bramwell of Ohio. A Christmas cantata and concert program followed, with notes on Masonry and the Eastern Star.
