Batavia high school won the county basketball tournament with a 25 to 13 final over Owensville, while Milford and Batavia shared strong showings. New Richmond, Goshen, Felicity, and Amelia also posted results as the event praised sportsmanship, crowd behavior, and organizers with awards for top team and runners up.

Court Grants Second Hearing Outcome for Warramount

Floyd Warramount appeared before the court for a second hearing. He was fined and ordered to pay costs totaling 75 dollars in addition to the first action’s fine and costs. The judge ruled his business may only continue if he buys out another party or buys and sells stock as his own.

Delegates Chosen In 6th District Democratic Meeting

The Democratic leaders of Ohio's 6th Congressional District met in Portsmouth on Tuesday night to elect delegates and alternates to the Democratic National Convention. Harry E. Taylor and William C. Sproul were chosen as district delegates, with John Blount and Allen B. Nichols as alternates. John Wood was named as the at large alternate from the state.

Serious Injury for Arthur Hartman in Cincinnati Crash

Arthur Hartman of New Richmond, a civil engineer who helped County Engineer Frank Galbreath, suffered a serious car crash in Cincinnati last Friday. His auto skidded on a corner and struck a light pole. he was taken to hospital in serious condition. The notice then notes the death of an unnamed loved one described with solemn imagery.
