A Batavia woman died at home Sunday evening after a several weeks illness. Funeral was held Tuesday at the M E church with Rev Bardsall officiating. She leaves four children Miss Mary Mrs W E Kain and two sons Tom and Wilbur Interment followed in Union cemetery.

Former Clermont Representative Benjamin Gardner Dead at 71
Benjamin E. Gardner died at his daughter’s home near Clermontville on February 20 1928 after a five day illness. He served two terms as Clermont county representative and was active in the Christian church and Grange. Survived by widow Harriet A. Swope, daughter Lora Barkley, sons John Gardner and Chas Gardner, and sister Mrs Minda Rosse. Funeral at Point Isabel Christian Church Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Point Isabel Bethel Journal.
