C G W Comegys writes in Lawrenceburgh Indiana on December 31 1845 defending his distillery allied flour mill business and condemning Rev H W Beecher for public attacks. He asserts he faced ruin from competition and argues morality of distilling is lawful under law and commerce while defending personal integrity and calling for an end to attacks.
