Auxiliary Class Enrolls Clermont County Veterans for Patrol
Patrolman W E Lewis Sgt C Dutch Wassenick and Sgt Donald Osborne lead enrollment of about 50 Clermont County veterans in the State Highway Patrol Auxiliary. The Batavia meeting at the Frank W Weaver Post American Legion launches a 40 hour training program in first aid traffic direction and emergencies with Lewis in charge. Membership is limited to veterans as a Legion public service in Ohio.

Warren Indicted In Double Slaying In Loveland
Mark Warren 40 of Loveland was indicted on two counts of first degree murder by a Clermont grand jury for the shootings of Roberta Thomas 40 and Horace Sullivan 65 on a farm near Cincinnati. Arraignment set for 9 am Monday before Judge Harry Britton.

Milford investors plan a 62 acre development near Route 60 and Route 50 including three tracts bought by the Gallenstein Brothers Madeira contractors. Malnutrition Claimed Death of GI POW Hollon
Corporal William K Hollon died of malnutrition in a Communist prison camp on June 11, 1951, Department of Defense announces. He enlisted in 1949 at age 18 and was captured July 5, 1950. He is survived by parents Larkin and Mrs Hollon and siblings Jeffrey 3 Shirley 16 and Janet 14.

Public hearing on change to Ohio State Route 27 route
The Ohio Director of Highways will hold a 2 p m hearing March 16 in Batavia courthouse to discuss relocating part of State Route 27. The plan shifts ROUTE 727 from Newtonsville Pleasant Plain Rd to Woodville Pike and Route 727, with sections reverting to Clermont County and an access road to Stonebick State Park retained. The 0.25 mile park approach and vacating the lake south shore segment are proposed as described.

General's Chair Moves to Birthplace Museum Exhibit
A chair used by General Ulysses S. Grant during the 1864 Virginia to Appomattox campaign will join the Clermont Countians birthplace collection in Point Pleasant next month. It is currently displayed at the State Archaeological and Historical Museum in Columbus.
