An epochal flag presentation to the Georgetown lodge of Masons in Southern Ohio was given Tuesday evening February 22 by Major General Frederick D. Grant in memory of his grandfather Jesse R. Grant and Brigadier General Thomas L. Hamer. Clermont county Masons attended, with visiting degrees conferred at the old Grant homestead on Gram a avenue by Kilwinning and Yeatman lodges Cincinnati.
Mills Gardner aged 80 of Washington DC and Ohio political prominence died early Sunday. A Methodist churchman and former Ohio senator and congressman, Gardner shaped state and national politics including the 1876 Republican convention. The funeral was held Tuesday in Washington.
