A century and a half ago in Clermont Sun founder L. B. Leeds sold the Sun to J. P. Thompson after a note for 300 dollars was signed by thirteen men. Clarke discounted the note and the creditors faced a web of political rivalries. most signers have since died, leaving one survivor, John Johnston, in Cincinnati.
