Death of Five Mile Farm Neighbor Frank Holman
Five Mile neighborhood mourns the death of Frank Holman a 55 year old farmer who died by his own hand last Thursday night after a period of illness. He lived on a farm with his wife and three grown children and was found hanged in the hay barn by his wife. Funeral services will be held at his home on Sunday afternoon.

Doctor narrowly escapes injury from falling glass in Cincinnati
Dr J D Wakefield of Loveland had a close call on a Cincinnati street when a plate glass pane from a third story window at the Union Central building on Fourth Street fell. It struck his shoulder bruising it and cut his foot, tearing his clothing. The incident is described as a near-fatal accident.

Attorneys' fees cut to five dollars in non support cases
In Adams county common pleas court last year two attorneys defended prisoners for non support who couldn't hire counsel. They presented $26 bills but the county board cut them to $5 each due to funds shortages. The checks were refused and turned over to the mothers pension fund. Quail Vaccination Effort Aims to Halt Cholera Spread
About 1200 Mexican quail at the State Fair Grounds in Columbus are being vaccinated by the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to stamp out a cholera outbreak that has killed hundreds. The birds, brought from Mexico by the state fish and game commissioner, were kept in New London before and quarantine weather pending release. Vaccination has yielded poor results and some advocate shipping eggs to hatch new stock, though restocking costs are high.

Bethel Man Indicted for Non-Support Case
Frank Binnnington 42 of Bethel was under indictment in Clermont county for non-support. He cut his throat at Charles Carter’s home and was taken to Newport auto patrol. Jail physician called the attempt not serious. he offered no reason. He will be brought to Batavia to face the charge.
