Drunkometer replaced by Breathalyzer in Clermont County

Batavia Police Chief N C Ward announces a Breathalyzer replaces the old Drunkometer for alcohol testing. The device is available to all county law enforcement for 6 dollars per test, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Batavia has the only machine and licensed operators in the county.

CIP Executive Hosts Luncheon

CIP Executive Jack Blumenthal of Clermont Industrial Parks will host an Industrial Committee luncheon on Thursday February 27 at the Ohio Corporation and Clermont Industrial Parks Master Plan. Auditor Cites Personal Tax Report Rules

Clermont County Auditor Arnold Stumpf issued notice on personal property filing opening last Friday with a April 30 deadline to avoid penalties up to fifty percent. He outlined who must file including business entities and rental properties and noted mail filing increasing while forms are available at the office.

Courthouse offices close for George Washington Birthday

County offices including Clerk of Courts Auditor Treasurer Recorder County Engineer Soldiers Relief Sanitary Engineer Planning Director and the TB Clinic will be closed Friday and Saturday in observance. The county commissioners had announced the switchboard and related offices would also suspend operations for the two day observance.

Williamsburg Board: water and sewer can handle new customers

The Williamsburg Board of Public Affairs says the municipal water and sewage plants can supply additional users if line extensions and funds are provided. Current daily pumping averages 100,000 gallons each, with plant capacity over 350,000, and 250,000 gallons on hand in finished form.

Schwartz Sworn In as Clermont County Judge

Louis J. Schwartz was sworn in Friday morning as Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge by Judge Raymond Shannon of the First District Court of Appeals. The ceremony included Judge John A. Breslin and a childhood friend, with Judge Harold D. Nichols presiding. Schwartz fills the Osborne vacancy, making him the seventh man in county history to hold the bench.
