Aged Lady Louisa Jones Dies in Cincinnati Home
Mrs. Louisa Jones aged 80 died at her daughter's Cincinnati home after months of ill health. She was brought to Batavia for funeral services at the M E church with Rev. Wilson, interment in Union cemetery. Survived by three sons and two daughters. Born in Ripley in 1838 she was widow of Wat A Jones who died in 1888.

Sunday morning blaze near Owensville alarmed villagers when the railroad conductor spotted Craver & Spahr’s butcher shop in flames. Help arrived but the old building could not be saved and burned to ashes after stock and fixtures were removed. Loss estimated in the hundreds. No cause determined.
