Canned Goods Held Back Ahead of March Food Rationing
Starting Saturday night February 20, certain processed canned foods will be withheld from sale until food rationing begins March 1. Baby foods canned fruits vegetables beans and meats dried fruits frozen fruits vegetables juices soups tomato products and other canned vegetables are affected.
Declaration of Canned Goods and Coffee Now Required
Clermont County residents must declare total canned goods and coffee for wartime rationing. Registration runs February 28 to 26 at public schools 1 PM to 8 PM. War Ration Book 1 required. Dealers register March 1 to 10. forms R-1302 and R-1308. Point rationing uses monthly stamps A B C with numbers. continuation on Page Two.
Clermonts Face Cut in Gas Supply
After a survey in Clermont county two Rationing Authority reps reported many C cards held by ineligible residents. Clermont was a high gas-user area due to Cincinnati war plant employment. New mileage-ration books go out March 1 with coupons for reduced gallonage. no cards will be withdrawn before then.
