Lions Club Drives Community Council Start

Youth Injured In Car Accident Near Goshen

Clifford Saylor 18 of Route 1 Coraddale was injured when his car skidded on wet pavement and overturned on Route 132 south of here last Wednesday. He suffered head injuries possible spinal injury and leg injuries and was taken to Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Two Brothers Captured After Beating Woman Looting Suspect

Clermont County sheriff and deputies caught Glenn Simpson 22 and Herbert Simpson 20 after they beat Dora Abott 46 and gagged her in a home on Rt 133 three miles south of Bethel at 4 18 p m. Abott was rushed to a Cincinnati hospital. The suspects were seized in a nearby field at 5 45 p m with neighbors aiding in the arrest.

Milford assistant county prosecutor Ralph A. Hill was elected president of the Clermont County Bar Association at the Terrace Park Country Club. He succeeds Russell Speidel of Batavia. Hugh L. Nichols was named vice president with Judge Orville Halbisch as secretary-treasurer and Judge Harry Britton as sergeant-at-arms.

State Officer to Attend Meet for Clermont County LWV

A pre organization meeting of the Clermont County League of Women Voters will be at Batavia Presbyterian Church today. Mrs James L Brown will be temporary chair and Mrs Griffith Resor will attend. Clermont Grand Jury Returns Seven Indictments

During a two day session the Clermont County Grand Jury returned seven indictments and dismissed seven cases. Among those indicted were Hattie Hartwell for concealed weapons and aiding an attempted jailbreak, Jerry G Tretola and Anthony P Penod for armed robbery, and John Milligan for second degree manslaughter in a fatal August crash. The panel also charged George Swanson with rape Ralph Means with petit larceny and Forrest Meyer with non support.

Auditor Earle B. Kincaid files abstract with the State Board of Tax Appeals showing Clermont County’s 1955 tax duplicate at 102,680,444, up 14,184,000 from 1954. Real estate totals reach 59,587,310 with public utilities 36,549,800 and personal property 6,543,334, split by agricultural, industrial, residential and commercial classes and by incorporated versus unincorporated areas.
