Bethel Woman Dies After Home Fire Burns
Mrs Maude Kennett of Jones Road Bethel died Wednesday morning at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital from severe burns suffered while attempting to start a fire in her living room stove with kerosene. Her husband Verne Kennett and neighbor Guy Harvey barely saved her life as flames engulfed the room.

Milford sergeant Robert L. Brown 19 son of Mr and Mrs Earl A Brown 155 Cleveland Ave Milford reports chest wound Feb 1 from base hospital in Korea. A Milford high school graduate he has been in Korea with the Severith Division since last August. His unit reached the Manchurian border before December evacuation.

Batavia Barber Peter Gunderloy Dies at 68
Batavia businessman Peter Gunderloy 68 died Sunday at his North Street home from a heart attack. A long time barber on Main Street, he operated a shop for more than 25 years. Services were held Wednesday at Stirling Moore funeral home at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Batavia Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Mamie and daughter Mrs. Mary Louise Smith of Jamestown Ohio.

Dr. D. R. Dodd, Ohio State University extension agronomist, was chosen by the Clermont Soil Conservation District to be the featured speaker for the districts second annual meeting. The event is set for February 28 at 8 p m in the Batavia High School auditorium with color slides from his Midwest pasture and grassland work. William Schneider will review the districts progress and goals for the coming year.
