Winter storms flood Batavia with accidents and spills as residents suffer injuries from icy sidewalks and a bank gutter. Clermont County commissioner action clears FAA master plan funding and a shared use parking license for Sporty’s Pilot Shop operator Hal Shevers Jr. He donates ten thousand dollars to the family YMCA building fund, promising to stay if county improves airport safety. Groundbreaking for warehouse expansion slated in six to eight weeks.
Clermont County Community Improvement Corporation approves three applications. Tipton Associates explains plans to issue 5 million in revenue bonds to finance a two building office research complex on Wards Corner Road to house Cincinnati Electrosystems Inc. The county seeks a 350 000 grant and 335 000 loan for equipment, plus bonds for Eastmark Centre expansion and a Health Care Fund nursing home project gains a one year extension. New CIC officers and terms set.
Judge Louis J. Schwartz ended the ZAC open meetings suit against the county commissioners and Kenneth Conover disaster services director. An agreement requires future meetings on health welfare and public safety to be open. The case settled without an in court hearing and without the defendants knowing in advance.
Batavia. Kevin Siler asked county commissioners to approve Omer Siler Inc for a drive through beer and wine permit. They sought information from Union Township police chief Willis and delayed a liquor hearing until their Feb 14 meeting if not received. State LCBB makes final decision.
About 500 children are set to tour the dental offices of Dr. Randle Egbert and Dr. Steven Southwood as part of a two to three month education program tied to National Children’s Dental Health Month. The sessions feature hygiene demonstrations, X ray insights, hands on fillings in model teeth, and a closing open house with free examinations and oral cancer info. The event also introduces the MC-MID plastic identification disk for quick emergency information, to be explained at the February 16 open house in Cincinnati.
County commissioners schedule a public hearing for Tuesday February 26 at 10 30 a m on a proposed change in the federal revenue sharing allocation for fiscal 1985. The change would raise debt service spending by more than 25 percent of the prior budget amount. The hearing follows regulations requiring notice when a 25 percent change occurs.
Dr. Sandra Small psychologist Shery Hibler mall manager and Kathy J Tarvin Blue Chip Development vice president are named to Clermont Warren Private Industry Council. Clermont County commissioners Friday confirmed their appointments to fill unexpired terms on the jobs program planning board. Nominees were submitted by Stephen G Brooks executive director of the Clermont Warren Consortium.
