Fire Hammers Boardwell Barn in Heavy Storm
Last Friday evening a lightning strike and gale at Chester Boardwell’s farm west of Batavia set a large stock barn ablaze. Cattle and sheep perished or were destroyed. two additional barns burned as the wind hampered rescue efforts. Loss estimated at 7000 dollars with 3000 insured. Boardwell receives community sympathy.
