Scholarships Offered In Agriculture At Ohio State University
Clermont County high school seniors may compete for four year agriculture scholarships at Ohio State University. Tests occur March 9 and 10 in their counties alongside other state scholarship exams. Five top entrants in each of four districts northwest northeast southwest southeast will win awards. Eligible students may use the scholarship over twelve quarters within six years, even if entering military service.

Clermont Couple Lose Antique Suit
Motion for a new trial in the replevin case of Mrs. Mathilde E. Heuck of Cincinnati against Enno and Marie Meyer of Mulberry was denied. The dispute centered on about 1500 dollars worth of antiques claimed under the will of Harry Meyer of South Orange New Jersey. A Clermont County court jury had found the bequest valid and awarded the antiques to Mrs. Heuck. The defendants asked for a new trial while the property remains in the Meyers home on Goshen Pike.

Milford firemen responded to their first alarm in three months Sunday night when fire caused $800 damage to the home and furnishings of Albert F. Nicolaus on Clark Street. The blaze started in an oil burning water heater in the basement and spread through the wall to the second floor. Insurance covered the loss. Firemen were hampered by icy streets and heavy smoke. Chief Victor J. Kuhn’s car skidded on Mound Avenue and struck a tree.

Lieutenant Colonel Paul Hommeyer has returned to civilian life after serving on Eisenhower’s London staff and now leads a Minneapolis life insurance branch.
