Batavia Clermont Soil and Water Conservation asks students to submit transcript grades a personal intent letter and a counselor recommendation. Applications are due in the office by April 80 with only the top five applicants chosen for interviews. For more information call 732-1614.
Clermont County residents are invited to an evening talk by Croswell on the local water situation. The meeting promises to be informative and timely and will take place Thursday evening February 14 at 8 p.m. at Union Township Hall on Glen Este Withamsville Road.
Ford Motor Co plans to start production March 3 at the $500 million Afton plant a 1.7 million square foot facility employing about 3500. The plant will use a three loop line to assemble transaxles in two vehicles a Lincoln Mercury model and a Ford model. Initial output will be about 40 units with full output 550000 transaxles yearly and tours may be offered.
A Cincinnati surgeon who planned to build near the SR 32 intersection faces revenue bond eligibility questions as the Community Improvement board imposes fresh regulations. Contd. on page 2.
Commissioners will start meetings with department heads to review requests for the 1980 budget. The Clermont Budget Commission provided a general fund resources figure of 6,614,360.28 dollars for 1980 including 1,836,762 in property tax revenue and 4,056,225.50 from other income. Planned expenditures rely on cautious budgeting with a static revenue base and ongoing projects like Eastgate Mall and related ventures.
John Hauck, chairman, reports Clermont County Tax School Board and Williamsburg Township Trustees on Milacron tax abatement request. He says the board will probably meet to review the proposal and decide on next steps.
