In Portsmouth on February 2 1924 representatives from six counties endorsed Calvin Coolidge for the Republican presidential nomination. Delegates to the National convention were chosen with Scioto as the elector, while strong support backed Dau gherty Fess and Morrow for various posts. The meeting at the Washington hotel featured a reading of Congressman Kearns letter and a pledge of unity amid tax plan debates in Congress.

An Independent Farmers Institute will meet at Owensville school auditorium on February 25 and 26 with topics including Home Improvement by Mrs Hendrix and Soil Fertility and Farm Operations by Mr Swan. Prizes will be offered to grade school children for best poster advertising the institute. Owensville bears a basketball win over Batavia 24 to 17 at the high school gym, with praise for the team as county tournament approaches.

A school exhibit will display student work on March 28 with a literary and musical program in the afternoon. Batavia High lost to Owensville 24 to 17, a first Clermont defeat in four years. Philomathean Society plans its February 8 program in the Auditorium.
