Obituary for Wilbur Simpkins of Williamsburg
Wilbur Simpkins, born October 28 1877 near Salem Brown County Ohio, died January 28 1909 at age 31. He lived in Williamsburg and worked diligently, joining the Methodist Episcopal church as a child and remaining devout. He married Sarah Elizabeth Hughes April 17 1904, they had son Kenneth Wilbur who died in infancy, and he suffered a prolonged illness including a Montana trip before returning home to die in peace. He held Masonry ranks, was a Knight and Master Mason, and served in Eastern Star. The funeral was in Williamsburg, with Masons Knights Eastern Stars and Pythian Sisters in attendance. He left widow Elizabeth and father, one brother John in Washington.
