Madisonville defeated Batavia 20 to 18 at the armory on Saturday. After a 9 to 2 halftime lead for Madisonville, the home team rallied with eleven points in the second half while Batavia managed seven. Cramer Sulli and Larkin starred for Madisonville with standout plays.

Mr and Mrs Charles Slade hosted a Friday evening gathering on Market Street to celebrate their daughter Miss Alice Slade s birthday. Better Farming Train At Batavia Draws Big Camden County Crowd

Batavia hosts the Better Farming train from the Norfolk and Western line drawing men, women, and children for lectures on forestry, dairying, and horticulture. The first raises monthly pensions for veterans with 90 days service and under 70 to 30, 70 to 75 to 35, and above 75 to 40, with automatic increase.
