Ground Broken for New Baptist Church in Withamsville
Ground breaking Sunday afternoon marked the start of a new Baptist church in Withamsville replacing a 100 year old structure. About 200 attendees witnessed Nora Witham participate. Rev. James Gilson spoke. Dr. Harold A. Heney leads the new church aiming for 200 members by Easter. Land donated by Schauffer and Brooks families.

Home Destroyed By Fire Near Milford
Fire of undetermined origin destroyed the home of Chester Robbins on Beechwood Road about a mile east of Milford last Sunday. Neighbors reported the blaze before noon while Mr and Mrs Robbins and their two children were at church. The Milford and Terrace Park fire departments fought the flames for over five hours, saving a barn and hay on the Romohr farm. a dog left inside the house escaped. Loss estimated at 14000 dollars.

Mr and Mrs Art Smith of Mt Holly were fined after appearing before Batavia Mayor A C Munden for creating a disturbance at Rhodes Cafe Route 125. Colin Rhodes, owner, pressed charges of disorderly conduct against Art Smith and assault and battery against his wife. The man was fined 25 dollars plus costs and the woman 100 dollars plus costs.

The Clermont County Home received about 1100 gifts for its seven residents with Christmas donations from organizations and individuals. Superintendent Clyde Boner distributed presents while residents viewed their first movie funded by donors.
