On a Wednesday night in Amelia a Chevrol et sedan was stolen from in front of the town hall during a basketball game. Sheriff Croswell and deputies pursued four youths from Covington to Batavia, recovering the car and arresting the suspects who admitted fleeing with the vehicle and selling parts. I. S. Bowlin plans interstate charges. Croswell's team continues prosecution.

Sheriff Fred Croswell brought in Russell A. Corby from Springfield after Corby faced grand jury charges for issuing checks and obtaining money under false pretenses. Pole Injury Amid County Ice Breaks Cripples Driver
Charles P. Johnson of Milford suffered a possible skull fracture and scalp injuries when a Bell Telephone pole toppled onto his car on Camp Dennison road near Miamiville Sunday. The crash knocked him unconscious, the car veered to a roadside ditch, his wife and Eveline survived, and Johnson remained in serious condition after initial treatment. The ice-laden poles caused multiple breaks across the county.
