Clermont Countians honor Santa helpers in county list

Prominent Milford Resident Dies in Missouri Crash

Raymond A. Ernst 25, formerly of Milford, died after a head on collision near Columbia Missouri Sunday. His wife Margaret 21 sustained a fractured pelvis. Ernst, a World War II veteran and Ohio University alumnus, was pursuing forestry biology research. Burial set at Greenlawn Cemetery Milford. Milford council resignations and appointments follow.

January 16 Date For Dean Hearing in New Trial Plea

Batavia Ohio Common Pleas Judge Harry Britton set January 16 for a hearing on Mrs Davie Blanche Deans motion for a new trial. She was convicted of first degree murder in the poison death of her husband Hawkins Dean. The defense claims eight errors in the original trial. If appeals fail, Dean faces the electric chair.

Two Men Injured When Car Hits Tree Near Midland

In Wilmington Ohio two Loveland men were hurt when their auto struck a tree on Route 28 near Midland. Driver Paul Logeman 22 and Walter Reece 22 suffered head hand and facial injuries and were treated at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Reece the car owner was cited for crossing a yellow line to appear before Mayor Malcolm K Arthur.

Blood Drive Totals 59 Pints in Batavia Visit

The Red Cross bloodmobile sponsored by the American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary collected 59 pints of blood during a Batavia visit. The event drew donors from Batavia, Batavia township and Owensville. A further visit is planned for January 19 to Withamsville-Tobas headquarters.

Batavia Pastor Hospitalized in Cincinnati

The Rev. Thomas Coleman, pastor of Holy Trinity Batavia and St. Philomena Stonelick, is confined to Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati with a kidney ailment. He had hoped to lead midnight Christmas Mass, but will not. A program by Grailville Loveland and Masses at 9 and 10 am Christmas day are planned. Petitions for candidates are due February 4.
