Mr and Mrs Jeremiah Beck of Bethel celebrated their golden wedding at home last week with about seventy guests. They are among the oldest pioneers with a large family totaling 71 children and many grandchildren. The couple received many useful gifts and the day was enjoyed by all.

The Clermont Teachers Association gathered last Saturday in Amelia with strong attendance. President A H Porter led the session after devotional rites by Lt N Jordan. Lectures, solos by Chatterton and Hall, and a discussion on closer patron teacher ties filled the program. The group voted to meet next at New Richmond and named a constitution drafting committee.
In Clinton county near New Vienna last week a man named Philip Ansborn tried to steal farmer William Moore’s horse. The horse bolted with him, threw him, dragged him back to the barn, and left him badly bruised before Moore jailed him in Wilmington.

Leonard F Benckenstein and Genevelve J Peterson were married in North Vernon Indiana on December 16 by Rev McRee. The groom is the son of a Cincinnati merchant and the bride the daughter of Captain A Peterson a retired Philadelphia merchant now living at Loveland. The couple wed at 8 50 Monday under a moonlit ceremony.
Robert Day was found guilty of manslaughter in Cincinnati last week for shooting and killing his father during an attempt to gain access to his divorced wife. He was sentenced to the penitentiary.
