Acreage Reserve details for 1958 Soil Bank program
Secretary Ezra Taft Benson announced the 1958 Acreage Reserve rules for spring planted crops in 1958. The plan sets per acre payments, eligibility for spring wheat corn upland cotton rice and tobacco, signup January 13 to March 7 1958, and a total goal of 11.5 to 14.5 million acres. A $3 000 payment cap per producer and a $500 million total funding limit apply. Farmers sign agreements with their county ASC to participate.

A two year audit of the Goshen local school district covering Nov 26 1955 to Oct 25 found bonded debt of 472 000 dollars and a bank balance of 32740 56 with a floating debt of 7875. Building fund expenses totaled 294 380 13 and the district operates Goshen Elementary and High School. James Pray chairs the board with Marian Barre Alfred Bodley Lloyd Floyd and Elmer Bailey. Examinations occur periodically under the Bureau of Inspection and Supervision of Public Offices. Copies are filed with the school district clerk and Clermont County prosecutor.
