Batavia man held on forgery charges after passing bad checks
Robert Schaffer 30 of Main St Batavia pleaded guilty to forgery and was held to the grand jury by County Judge Dale M Osborne. He admitted cashing forged checks for 86 and 82 dollars at local stores and a 10 dollar purchase with another 86 dollar check. He had earlier passed a 40 dollar forged check in October. Spaulding owner of the market helped identify him. The case involves two victimized businesses and a bank.
