Grant Deem Killed in Cincinnati Train-Hit Accident
Grant Deem the 49 year old eldest son of James M Deem of near Olive Branch died in Cincinnati last Friday when his wagon was struck by an approaching train as he crossed the track after delivering a load for an ice company. His body was taken to the morgue and later returned to Olive Branch for burial in the family cemetery. He was unmarried.

Drain work begins for Hamilton House cellar relief
Work on a new drain to relieve the Hamilton House cellar started by Kidd & Buerkle with a strong crew last week. The initial drain was too shallow and could not carry ash pit water from the boiler. the new drain will be nine feet deep, run down Main Street to intersect the sewer feeding into the East Fork at North Street. The project should take about a week with ample manpower.

Wagon accident breaks Batavia man’s leg

Barr estate arms Batavia Armory project to Bonding Company
