Mr and Mrs Clarke W Gregg welcomed a baby girl born Monday morning. Miss Frances Oxley entertained friends from Cincinnati Saturday evening for the Charity Ball. Mrs Charles Hurdle is a patient in Good Samaritan hospital following surgery. Her condition is good. Miss Betty Wilson hosted her Bridge Club Monday evening, Mr and Mrs Herb Channer entertained Rotary men and wives Tuesday evening.

Ripley market enters the second week of the 1941-42 season as daily averages rise toward $30. First week sales totaled 590,140 pounds for $160,804.07, averaging $27.24 per hundred, with prices from $5 to $44 and few piles at the low end. About 5 percent of offerings went to pool. quality described as greener and houeburned with deliveries increasing daily.

Highway Department Prepares for Winter Conditions

The State Highway Department has set up regular road condition reporting from strategic county points. Treated grit barrels are placed along rights of way for immediate attention. Gas and Electric Rates Hiked in Lebanon City

Lebanon Ohio area residents served by the municipal utility were told last week of rate increases for both gas and electricity. The new rates became effective December 1 and were linked to higher production costs. Electricity costs rose 46 percent per 100 kilowatt hours while gas costs increased 25 percent per 1000 cubic feet.
