The Tri C Class met with Mrs Loren Hageman on Friday night. Class Number Ten held its Christmas party in the Sunday school room on Friday evening. Mrs C C Houser entertained the Sewing Club Thursday evening.
Mr and Mrs Clarke W Gregg welcomed a baby girl born Monday morning. Miss Frances Oxley entertained friends from Cincinnati Saturday evening for the Charity Ball. Mrs Charles Hurdle is a patient in Good Samaritan hospital following surgery. Her condition is good. Miss Betty Wilson hosted her Bridge Club Monday evening, Mr and Mrs Herb Channer entertained Rotary men and wives Tuesday evening.
The couple Chile Mr Henry McKinley and Mrs Margaret McIntyre united in marriage sec 2nd in Covington Kentucky. After returning home they attended a reception at Albert Woodmansee’s. Franklin TP Charles Knile hon with nine relatives from Kentucky visited Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Taylor at Kilo Friday evening. Frank Carnes and family joined the gathering during the social visit.
Mr. John Scheidt of Glen-Este died last week. The family expresses sympathy. Mrs. Homer Hunt visited Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Cecil Billingsley.
Mr and Mrs William Jones hosted company from Kentucky on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Raymond Heffner will move to the home of Mr and Mrs Frank Irwin.
Mr and Mrs Earl Huling hosted a family visit from his mother and sister. Bill Ramsey began as the new attendant at Loudenback oil station.
The Mt Pisgah Embroidery Club met at Mrs. Millers Thursday afternoon. Mrs Pickelheimers illness was noted as improving.
Mr. Holly attends the late Charles Kearn sale at Amelia on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Thomas entertained the Topie family to dinner on Sunday.
Locust Corner Mrs J D Cross returns from a visit with relatives in Madison. Mr and Mrs Adam Lang spend Sunday with Mr and Mrs Clint Spurgeon of Willowville.
Pt Isabel Mrs Ela Hughes of Calvary spent a week with Mrs Frances Barnett. Mr G H Page departed for an extended visit with friends at Glen St Mary Florida.
Willowville mourners attended the funeral of John Scheidt in Batavia on Saturday. Mr. Milt McGuire and Mrs. Walston Jacobs were among the attendees. Francis Gleason of Mt. Washington visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Elick recently.
County Commander Kincaid calls ex servicemen to join the American Legion in Civilian Defense efforts. Batavia Legion Post and others in Clermont County are urged to help, with plans for Darktown Minstrels on December 18 to raise funds and spread Christmas cheer.
Ripley market enters the second week of the 1941-42 season as daily averages rise toward $30. First week sales totaled 590,140 pounds for $160,804.07, averaging $27.24 per hundred, with prices from $5 to $44 and few piles at the low end. About 5 percent of offerings went to pool. quality described as greener and houeburned with deliveries increasing daily.
Roger R. Wersel has taken over the Withamsville Supply Co on Route 125 in Withamsville Ohio since November 1. The prior owner Joe Hults will focus on building and real estate. Wersel, formerly owner of R R Wersel Lumber Co in Newtown, aims to cooperate with past customers and assist in the store’s operations.
John Scheidt age 83 died at his Glen Este home on December 3. Funeral held at Wm. B Moore Funeral Home at 2 PM Saturday with interment at Olive Branch. Richard Kinner five months old, son of Mr and Mrs Edgar Kinner, died at his grandparents home December 6. Funeral services held at Moore Funeral Home Monday at 10:30.
Mrs Clara Churchvillage widow of Dan Churchvillage of Owensville died Monday, December 1st. Requiem high mass will be held Saturday, December 6th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church in Owensville.
James Abernathy age 79 passed away near Batavia on Tuesday December 2. Services were held at Marathon Church with burial at Newtonsville.
Alberta White wife of Horace White and daughter of T M Slade of Williamsburg died December 8. Funeral services were held December 10 at 2 p m at the Williamsburg Methodist church.

Clermont County residents engage in annual home butchering with over 5000 hogs killed for home use. County Agent Roy Battles promotes the practice as cost saving and nutritious. Members of Frank W. Weaver Post No. 237 Batavia Ohio attended the Commanders and Adjutants Banquet in Columbus at the Waldorf-Weshler hotel with National Commander Lynn Stambaugh as the keynote speaker. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Kenneth Hillin Dr and Mrs C J McCloy Mr and Mrs Irwin Kain Commander and Mrs Charles Shinkle Mr and Mrs Bernard Koogler Mr and Mrs E B Kincaid and Brice Hendrixson. Commander Shinkle and Adjutant Koogler also attended the conference Sunday.
Lebanon Ohio area residents served by the municipal utility were told last week of rate increases for both gas and electricity. The new rates became effective December 1 and were linked to higher production costs. Electricity costs rose 46 percent per 100 kilowatt hours while gas costs increased 25 percent per 1000 cubic feet.
The Withamsville-Tabasco PTA invites the community to a cafeteria style turkey dinner on Friday evening December 12 in the lunch room. Prices are turkey 20c, roast beef 15c, fish 10c, and other items 5c. dinner starts at 6 30 p m. Amusements and games will be in the auditorium for all.
