The Batavia Garden Club invites residents to decorate homes for Christmas. There will be three judging classes for homes, doorways, and business establishments. No prizes this year. outstanding entries will receive honorable mention. Judging occurs Tuesday December 28 between 7:30 and 9:30.

L. M. Dawson Dies in New Richmond
Lucian M. Dawson 85 prominent New Richmond attorney and long time mayor died at his home. Admitted to the bar in 1885 he practiced law over five decades and helped organize Clermont Building and Loan Co in 1886 and the First National Bank of New Richmond in 1904 serving as its first president and cashier. Funeral services were held Tuesday. Survived by a daughter Jane Dawson Langdon of Coral Gables Fla and a son Lucian H. Dawson an attorney in New Richmond.

Barbara Hall Returns to Vermont Court for Milford Slaying
Barbara Hall, accused of killing her husband Alonzo at their Milford home on September 27, has been returned from Lima State Hospital after a sanity test. Declared sane after thirty days, she returned to Batavia to stand trial before Judge Charles G. White. A trial date had not yet been set, with jurors called for the coming Saturday. Police indicate others may be implicated in the murder.
