Milford Kiwanis Farm-City Night Featured Guest Speaker

Milford Kiwanis held its Farm-City Night on November 25 with a buffet by Bill Knepp and 152 attendees. Floyd Chapman presided as William Massey of Clermont and Brown counties spoke. LaRue Copher organized games awarding prizes for waist size, travel distance, beans in a jar, feet size and soybean acreage.

Felicity Board set to seek operating levy December vote

The Felicity-Franklin Board of Education met November 25 to discuss the December 10 operating levy. Officials argued the levy would provide borrowing power and adequate revenue to pay bills and run the district, while a failed levy could force higher mills and costly future elections. They urged community support to keep the Felicity-Franklin schools strong and staffed. Amelia St Bernadette event hopes to fund athletics with a December dance featuring The Robb Dunn Combo.

River Park plan outlines Clermont County projects

A 4500 acre linear park proposal along the Little Miami River includes Clermont County projects. In Loveland a 840 acre tract with a 775 acre nature preserve, a three mile fishing easement, and linked riverbank trails are planned. A 410 acre commercial recreation site is planned between US 50 Bypass and the river north of Camp Dennison.

Six Escape Injury At RR Crossing

Rhodes Seventies Plan Highlights Clermont County College

Gov. James A. Rhodes unveils Solutions for the Seventies proposing a two year college in Clermont County as part of eight regional state universities. Division 8 covers Clermont and neighboring counties with Southwestern Ohio State University indicated for Clermont.

Ohio judge revokes driver's license forever in drunken driving case

Clermont County Court judge John D. Erhardt revokes Robert Garlmore's license "forever" after a drunken driving arraignment. Garlmore, 32, of Milford, received a $100 fine plus costs and three days in jail after a 1967 arrest tied to knocked over mail boxes. He had failed to appear and was later seized under a bench warrant. He plans to move south after release. The piece also notes Clermont two year college prospects and a UC air technical college proposal at Clermont County Airport amid Rhodes education plans.

1969 Dog Licenses Go On Sale Monday

Clermont County dogs must be licensed by Jan 20 with a $2 license fee and a $10 kennel license. Penalties apply after Jan 21. Licenses available at the auditor’s office in Batavia and several county outlets including Loveland and Amelia. Rabies shots not required for purchase.

New GOP Club Organized in New Richmond

Active Republicans from Ohio, Washington, Monroe and Franklin Townships organized a new Clermont County GOP club in New Richmond. Officers elected include Dennis Murphy president Judy Herbert vice president Jackie Williams recording secretary Katherine Wilson corresponding secretary and Cora Mercer treasurer. Clermont County Republican Chairwoman Elvira Werner aided the formation and Louis J. Schwartz was named to head the constitution committee. The next meeting is planned for January 6 at 7 30 p m in New Richmond.

Three Juveniles Held In Series Of Area Thefts

A trio of 15 and 16 year olds faces burglaries auto theft and other charges tied to a string of area crimes. Two suspects have appeared in Clermont County Juvenile Court and one in Hamilton County Juvenile Court. Victims include Walter Meyer Goshen and Thomas Heywood with items from guns to a television stolen and a car wreck in Cincinnati. One youth escaped during restroom arrest and was later hospitalized after a crash.

Needy Kids Christmas Fund Names County Chairmen

Clermont County American Legion posts name chairmen to collect, purchase, sort, and distribute gifts across the county. Independent Party meeting set by Clermont County chair
