Saturday afternoon Henry H. Wellman aged 62 a dry goods clerk in Cincinnati died suddenly. He had lately drank heavily and a doctor did not investigate. His sister Mrs. Astman found him dead on a third floor sofa probable brain congestion from excess alcohol. Gunfire on westbound train near Winchester shocks riders
Last Wednesday at three o’clock an unknown group fired four shots at the westbound Cincinnati and Mastern railroad train near Fen ton Station two miles west of Winchester. One shot hit the baggage car, two struck the rear coach, and one lodged in the car casing. Conductor Dugan notified Winchester agents, officers sent to the scene but no arrests yet.
