New Clermont County board to hire computer consultant

Batavia Clermont County commissioners re established the automatic data processing board and expect a meeting after Sept 1 to hire a computer consultant. The board will evaluate hardware software needs for three departments and possibly include Common Pleas Court and other offices later. Ray Taylor to head the new department with three staff programmers. The mainframe purchased two years ago for $300000 remains in use for tax and payroll processing.

First-time candidate files for Goshen Board of Education

Marilyn Dickhaus 47 of Shiloh signed candidacy petitions at the Clermont County Board of Elections last Thursday ahead of the Nov. 5 election filing deadline. She is running for Goshen Board of Education now that her children have graduated from Goshen High School. Elections worker Jean Stamper processed the petitions and filing fee. Thoroughfare plan could begin soon

Interviews with six engineering firms were set for Tuesday as Medina County reviews proposals for a new thoroughfare plan. If approved, a final choice may be announced Aug. 29 with input from county and township officials to justify township contributions and outline plan benefits for zoning and state funding.

Slade Retires as Batavia Educator After 32 Years

Robert K. Slade, 60, retires as assistant superintendent of the Clet County Board of Education after 32 years in education.
