Three Clermont County Boys to Appear on All-Ohio Music Telecast
Three Clermont County youths will join the All-Ohio Boys Band on a Pat Boone hosted TV special from the Ohio State Fair in Columbus. The half hour color program titled The Sound of Buckeye Music airs Monday at 8 30 p m on WLW T Channel 5. The participants are Jim Milner from Amelia and Daryl Blackburg and Melvin Heffner from Williamsport. The three will spend a week at the fair with the band, which traces its roots to 40 years ago under Dr Louis Pete and is now led by Ohio State University’s Jack Evans. The broadcast is co sponsored by Ohio Bell and the Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company.

Drive for Amelia sewer aid nears 40 percent pledge

Explosion Wrecks Batavia Plant on West Main Street
An explosion and fire at the Cincinnati Chemical Processing Co. plant at 458 W. Main St in Batavia caused extensive damage estimated between 70 000 and 100 000 dollars. Fire crews from Batavia and Owensville contained the fire though debris rekindled later. Canisters likely absorbed blast energy to protect offices. The exact cause is undetermined with pilot light ignition suspected.
