Two youths escape from Clermont County detention facility
Two area youths slipped from the Clermont County detention facility during a disturbance at intake. A 16-year-old runaway was found in a vacant Batavia house with clothes and supplies. he had been committed to the Ohio Youth Commission and faced transfer to a state facility. An 18-year-old from Cincinnati remained at large as authorities pursued a lead. The escape prompted charges and a review of security at the facility.
