The Batavia Junior Woman's Club seeks volunteers for a Proctor and Gamble survey using a tape patch on the upper arm over six weeks on Monday Wednesday and Friday at First Methodist Church Batavia. The Brady Bunch crew, about 60 people, films this week August 20 to 24 at Kings Island. Paramount Television producers say most scenes occur in the park with sightings for patrons. Robert Reed plays Mike Brady guiding the family to plans for a new addition that go missing triggering comic moments.
Afton Wesleyan Church hosts a revival from August 22 to September 2 led by evangelists Rev Lucille Law and Rev Richard Law with gospel singing. Services are nightly at 7 30 led by Pastor Rev Whit Culpepper who is in charge.
The Showboat Majestic ends its fiftieth summer season with 110 in the Shade from Aug 3 to Sept 9. The musical, adapted from The Rainmaker by Nash, features music by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. Set in a droughtstricken Western prairie, it follows a plain girl's quest for a husband before she becomes a “no-takers” target.
Two Batavia youths were charged with breaking and entering the Maurice Miller residence at 400 Woodside Drive between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday. Police recovered $115 of the $230 stolen, after one youth was apprehended by Batavia officers.
